Upgrade of our Practice Management System (PMS)
Port Nicholson Medical Centre is upgrading our PMS, which will impact our clinic for 4 hours on Monday 4th December from 8am until 12noon, while the new system is installed.
During this time the clinic will be closed and our phonelines switched off, as we will not have access to any patient records.
If you require urgent medical treatment during this time, please contact Healthline, the Wellington After Hours Clinic or Wellington Hospital Emergency Department.
Please ensure that all Repeat Prescription requests are given to the clinic before 3pm on Friday 1st of December.
Our usual service will resume from 12noon on Monday the 4th of December 2023.

About Port Nicholson Medical
We are a Wellington Central City General Practice based in Taranaki Street (just around the corner from Courtenay Place), within easy walking distance of the Golden Mile. Our GPs offer a full range of general medical services. Our Medical Centre has very experienced doctors and a small team who provides an efficient and personalised service to our patients. Port Nicholson Medical offers excellent quality medical and nursing services with easy access to our friendly practice staff. There is a parking building immediately opposite many others located within walking distance. There are multiple bus routes adjacent to Port Nicholson Medical Centre.
Our GPs are available for general consultations, skin checks including dermatoscopy, minor surgery and routine medical examinations. We also offer travel medicine, hormone replacement therapy for menopause and long term birth control options including the fitting of IUCDs, Mirena, Implanton, Jadelle and Depo Provera.

After Hours options available

We recommend after hours patients contact Practice Plus which is a trusted medical service available on-line and is an extension to your Medical Centre team. This service is available from 5pm - 10pm during weekdays and 8am to 8pm during the weekend and public holidays. You can access this service from the Practice Plus website and online booking system. www.practiceplus.nz
Alternatively, the After-hours Medical Centre located on 17 Adelaide Road in Mount Cook is open from 8am - 9pm every day including public holidays. No appointment needed just walk in. If an x-ray or a physical exam needed this likely the best option.

Repeat Prescriptions
If you are signed up to Manage My Health, please put your script request through the secure ‘Repeat Prescription’ function on your Manage My Health account.
To register and use Manage My Health you must be aged 16 years or older and have an individual (exclusive) email address. Please call 04 384 4315 to ask our reception team to register you today.
If you do not wish to register for Manage My Health, please call our reception team on 04 384 4315 to process your script request.
Please allow 3 working days for your prescription to be actioned and sent to your pharmacy.

Patients with respiratory/infectious symptoms
Please advise reception at time of booking or on day of appointment if you have any respiratory symptoms, RAT tests may be required prior to seeing doctor or nurse.
Please call us to make a phone appointment if you have any of these symptoms and your GP will assess the need for an in person consultation.
For (non COVID-19 symptomatic) patients coming into the practice for their appointment, please be aware that we are limiting the numbers in the waiting room so please come on your own or with a support person. We are asking that our patients please wear a mask whilst in the practice, one is able to be supplied at the practice if required.
We are continuing to ask our patients to wear masks in the practice, this is being reviewed on a monthly basis. Patients with respiratory symptoms will continue to be asked to wear a mask.
